Hold your loved ones close…..
A year since my last blog post, and boy what a year it was…after 2020 we thought 2021 would be better, but to say it threw a curve ball is an understatement!
I didn’t do a lot of painting (or drawing) in the 1st half of the year, but as the year progressed I started painting again and in October I did the Instagram challenge #inktober (which was my 7th time doing it) and decided to focus on nature drawings from plants around my property as we were still in lockdown.
I do this challenge as a daily drawing practice that helps with my painting process. I decided to sell all my drawings with 100% of the money going to Gumboot Friday which raises much needed funds for free councillors for young people. I ended up selling all but 3 drawings and donating $1340 to the charity.

I have now added a page on my website dedicated to ‘Works on Paper’ with original artworks for sale. Click here to take a look.
In the latter half of 2021 I took on an amazing Art/life Coach, Heather Mann and already I am feeling/seeing the difference, holding myself accountable and setting myself tasks. Watch this space.
No1 Parnell in Rawene and Emma Jean Framing and Gallery in Silverdale, both have my artwork for sale and No1 Parnell now has an Online gallery, which helps in these uncertain times.
Thank you for those that are still reading this, a new series of paintings are in progress as we speak, and lots of empty wooden panels and canvases waiting for paint.

Thank you all so much.
Arohanui Kristin xx
PS: My new motto:
Kristin
Congrats on applying your new motto and putting this out there as well as committing to your new series of paintings which we see progressing beautifully in the image above! And Inktober, again, with worthy work supported through your mahi and aroha! I’m admiring your determination and energy – both drawn from your ‘why’ which you sum up so well in your title. X
Kristin, you have such a generous nature. What a brilliant opportunity to raise money and awareness for mental health, by selling your daily sketch from Inktober. 👍
I’ll buy one this year if you do it again! Love your work 👩🎨
